Anime NYC hosts over 101,000 attendees as fans gather for a weekend of exclusive premiers, Celebrity meet and greets, Cosplay meet ups and more

Every Year fans around the country and even some internationally gather at the Javits Center in New York City for Anime NYc, arguably the best Anime convention on the east coast. Fans come to celebrate their love for Anime, meetup with old friends and experience exclusive sneak previews of upcoming movies, news, events and more.

Anime NYC broke records this year as it held its largest convention yet. The Popular Anime Convention bolstered a staggering amount of guests this year, setting a new personal record with over 101,000 attendees; this is a massive jump from the estimated 63,000 in 2023. The convention began in 2017 and has only grown year over year.

The event was jam packed with  plenty of programming from the artist alleys, to the live panels, to the exclusive movie premiers, the digital and live concerts, cosplay meetups, meet and greets, exclusive manga releases, private screenings and more.

One of these exclusive movie premiers was the Detective Conan / Case Closed series which  showcased its north american premier for the bride of halloween. Along with this was the premier of Ranmas ½ Reboot.  What might have been even more exciting for most fans was the premier of  quickly rising Netflix and CrunchyRoll favorite Da Da Dan, which had a screening accompanied by a live panel with both Japanese and English Voice actors.  Also, let us not forget the classic movie series Terminator which also had a special preview and panel of the new upcoming Terminator Zero.

As if these weren't fun already, the convention also had a staggering 800 exhibitors ranging from popular anime and manga press, to exclusive anime clothing brands, to the ever astonishing artists alley which is always a fan favorite and certainly gives conventions that jump from regular to extraordinary. Fans would be able to stroll the main hall and see their favorite shows and characters depicted in creative mediums of the expressive and ingenious artist touches as well as have first hand looks at exclusive new licensed collaborations between some of the exhibitors and the official animes.  this is certainly where most walletsshrink in size as fans are surrounded by incredible artwork and leave with astonishing souvenirs, memories and more.

One touch that left many fans raving was the live sold out concert held within the convention halls by popular hip hop duo Creepy Nuts who you may recognize from the hit song “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” That was used as the theme song in Mashle and took social media by storm. Tis was the duos first ever North American concert

As you continue your journey throughout the convention you may venture into a panel room which were full with a variety of speakers and topics ranging from pop culture, to anime, to real life, career advice, gaming, streaming and more. There seemed to be no topic left untouched as the knowledgeable and helpful speakers left attendees with plenty of insight and guidance towards their respective lecture themes.

Many guests expressed their inner anime character as thousands of attendees arrived in beautiful, unique, cosplays and even were able to meet and connect with similar anime lovers at the various Cosplay meetups held throughout the weekend.

Making your way to more of the hall you may find yourself in a competitive spirit. There was even something for that as the convention hosted an arcade and TCG matches for guests to bring out their competitive side and have fun.

This sounds like a lot, wouldn't you get hungry? Fans were able to quench their thirst and satisfy their hungry bellies with a wide display of popular Japanese Vendors who bring a variety of tasty and flavorful foods and snacks to help give you that much needed “con boost”of energy.

Overall Anime NYC continues to grow year over year and with each year that passes, the team finds a way to make an already phenomenal event even more incredible. With this wide range of entertainment, the loving community, and the creative masterminds working behind the scenes, there is no doubt that Anime NYC is a convention definitely not to miss out on and we are very excited for what's in store for  next year.
